Finally! @_@... I think I've spent something like... 20 hours on this? Crazy stuff.

This was all done in Inkscape, compared to my other attempts which were done in SAI.
What to say?... Well... Either Inkscape is quite difficult to deal with (the interface *is* quirky in places), or Celestia is way too detailed (... she is). So, um... yeah, both

Still glad I've gone through this, but darrrrn... Next time I'm definitely using SAI instead. It does not automate filling and doesn't have pwetty gradients, but I'm pretty sure I can compensate those in less time than Inkscape demanded for even basic things .

Not saying Inkscape is bad, btw, as it's a very thorough vector application. It's just that I'm more interested in having vectors help me, rather than become a constraint, which SAI does well enough


Colors were based on the source PNG I drew this from... but only after I tried to guess them. For giggles, this is the version I had when I tried to guess the colors from the source picture I printed: [link]
